Low-N vs Low-Al Ferro Titanium

Low-N and Low-Al describe different chemistry requirements. Neither designation substitutes for a complete Ferro Titanium specification, and a Low-Al grade is not automatically a Low-N grade.

01

Low-N: Nitrogen Control

SKP’s Low-N flagship capability is supported by NNP Ferro Alloys’ dual-Argon refining configuration. The nitrogen limit is customer-agreed; send the required limit and qualification requirements. No universal numerical Low-N limit is published.

02

Low-Al: Aluminium Control

The published Low-Al FeTi 70–75 profile specifies titanium at 70–75%, aluminium at 1.0% maximum and nitrogen up to 500 ppm. That published nitrogen value must not be treated as the specification for the separate Low-N capability.

03

Specify Both Where Required

State titanium, aluminium, nitrogen and other residual limits together. Confirm size, form, sampling and the testing method for each acceptance parameter. Nitrogen verification is agreed separately from the Group’s XRF elemental-analysis workflow.

This guide explains SKP’s published product information. Final product selection and supply specifications are agreed for the intended order.
